Grow Tips: Rhododendron White Peter thrives in moist, well-drained, acidic soils. If you have dense clay, amend it with organic material like compost to improve drainage. Plant the root ball slightly above ground level to prevent rot, and choose a spot with dappled shade to avoid leaf scorch from afternoon sun. Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy, and use a slow-release fertilizer for acid-loving plants in early spring. Prune after flowering to shape the plant and remove dead blooms. Mulch around the base to retain moisture, and protect from harsh winter winds if necessary.
